London Theatre Tickets for all the London Theatres especially West End Theatre, which is the much loved term used for the principal or dominant, professional shows or plays staged in the West End of London, is in the main considered to be at the top of commercial theatre in the whole of the English speaking world.
It is is of course to be acknowledged that New York’s Broadway theatre is up there alongside it, but we are just dealing with London theatre and London theatre goers this website, for to see a West End show is one of the most common tourist activities in London.

Traditionally located within the boundaries of Oxford Street to the north, the Strand to the south, Kingsway to the east and Regent Street to the west, this district has now been rebranded by both the Society of London Theatre and Westminster Council as “Theatreland” containing approximately forty theatre venues.

The Strand, Drury Lane, Shaftesbury Avenue, St Martin’s Lane, Argyll Street, and Haymarket have over the many years become synonymous with London West End Theatre.

Here are some of the Theatres and their current

  • The Lyceum Theatre, Wellington Street, Just off the Strand-Currently showing-The Lion King, which is now in it’s 13th year of production
  • Queen’s Theatre, 51 Shaftesbury Avenue-Currently showing-Les Miserable, Originally opening at the Barbican Theatre on 8 October 1985, this production is now in it’s 27th year and is the world’s longest running musical
  • Fortune Theatre, Covent Garden-The Woman in Black, Now in it’s twentieth year in the West End. Critically acclaimed
  • Dominion Theatre, Tottenham Court Road-We Will Rock You, with 32 Queen’s classic hits. Named after the groups hit single, it was written by comedian Ben Elton, together with Brian May and Roger Taylor.
